Sri saranagathi dipika ---Sri desikans sloka on deepak prakasar at tupul.

Deepak prakasar temple at Thiru tanka --kanchipuram is also known as Himopavanam.Of the 108 divya desams sanctified and eulogised by nalayara divya prabhandam --4000 hymns  only two are ananyas  viz forest or groves. One is namisranyam  and the other is Himopavanam or the grove that once stood in the place of the present temple .Nam aazhwar has referred to this grove in his hymns around 6 -7th cent ad.

An sloka--

27. Tvat prtaikalya vimukhah spurad anukulya
kritva punah krpanatam viga tatisankah,
Svamin! bhava svayam -upaya itirayantah
tvayyar payanti nijabharam --aparasakatau||
meaning:
     Oh lord Dipaprakasa!Those who have resorted to your benign lotus like feet as the sole refuge , that is have performed prapti towards you are prapannas.

They have already fulfilledthe 5 most essential requisites of seeking refuge.

1. Resolved to do only favourable acts/ rituals to bhagwan
2..They have completely refrained from doing prohibited acts,
3, they have firm faith in you . that you alone will save us all.
4. Oh lord please protect me, i have no other shelter except at your pair of lotus like feet.
5.I have no merit or qualifications , a good for nothing fellow.

Declaring the above, these aspirants deposit their burden at your feet of unlimited powers.
