Pei aazhwar is one of the earliest vaishnavaite saint of Tamil nadu who wrote several hymns in Tamil soaked in bhakthi .
His very famous hymn came to mind when i visited and paid obeisance to his small idol housed in a ill kept mantap which is said to be his place of birth nearly 1500 years back , which is now right in the heart of Chennai ,in the very congested Mylapore area .The hymn being --thiru kanden ponmeni kanden ---i saw the the sacred golden form of Lakshmi and Narayana.
